"Somebody To Love: A tribute to Queen" to rock on March 11

Conformed by 11 members, including 5 chorus voices, “Somebody To Love”, will bring back a tribute to Queen to the Old Rock House next March 11.

Somebody To Love was the result of lead vocalist Jason Nelson’s over a year and half planning for the first show, last year.

“The thrill of hearing the unique musical stylings of Queen come to life in the live setting is something that everyone in the band gets a huge charge from” lead vocalist Jason Nelson said. “The challenge of performing Queen has made us all appreciate the rock and roll genre more now than ever,” Nelson said.

Some members in the band attempt to resemble Queen’s original band members. Jake Nelson, who plays bass resembles Queen’s John Deacon, due to his “attention to detail and sensible clothing style choices”.

On drums is Brian Sullivan, who is right on track with all the Queen material “dynamically and astrophysically”.

Kevin Lemen "stays true to the spirit of Queen” while playing the guitar and taking the guitar stylings of Brian May.

St. Louis veteran in the music and entertainment scene John Covelli plays the piano and keyboard. “Somebody To Love is very proud to have John Covelli in the rank,” Nelson said.

The chorus of Somebody To Love is conformed by 5 members. Timery Rogers is "prolific” when performing Freddie Mercury's soprano, upper register vocal harmonies. “She is adaptable in any situation which makes her invaluable to the chorus and a blast to perform with,” Nelson said.

From the popular band “Mathias and the Pirates”, Candace Wilbert who has been singing and performing in the St. Louis area for many years,  is also chorus member for “Somebody to Love”. “Bringing an enthusiasm and positive energy to the chorus Candace is a superstar in her own right, as a member of Somebody To Love she pushes the band to new heights” Nelson said.

Shelby "Q" Carter Jr, has been friends and “musical confidant” for over two decades with Jason Nelson. “He has a voice like butter and his trumpet playing skills are second to none”, Nelson said.

“The chorus of Somebody To Love is a sight to behold with Jessica Butler as a member,” Nelson said. She also plays saxophone and sings with The Wackness, The JB's, The Ralph Butler Band and The Mo E Allstars.

Latonia Holland holds an incredible experience with tribute and cover bands according to Nelson. “She is a force to behold,” he said.
