MIA MCMANUS

Dwight Carter, Founder and Creative Director of Brainchild Events, fell in love with entertainment marketing and production while pursuing his music business degree at Fontbonne University. During his time at Fontbonne, he created the university’s first organization that booked and promoted bands on campus. Dwight spent an additional 12 years in music business post-college before finding his niche in the fashion event industry, producing and promoting concerts, managing and promoting bands and working as a record label marketing rep.

In 2006, Dwight co-produced a fashion show with Jeff and Mary Clarke, and this is when his fashion industry career began. He had business cards made that read ‘Fashion Expert’ and built his business working in the industry as a personal shopper, a photo stylist, an event producer, in public relations and marketing, and as a back-of-house stylist for fashion shows.

Once he had established himself in the fashion industry, Dwight began to focus on event planning with a niche in fashion and entertainment. He has planned, produced and executed many events, to include: fashion shows, small business launches, charity events, and corporate parties and galas. He has also created annual Brainchild Signature Events—Fashion Anarchy and Gent! Menswear Designer Show.

With Dwight’s years of fashion and entertainment expertise, his out-of-the-box, innovative approach and seamless event planning and execution, he effortlessly brings his clients’ visions to life. When you partner with Dwight, you live the experience.

Mia McManus is the Marketing Assistant at Brainchild Events. She has always had a “passion for fashion” so following this career path was a no brainer. She is currently a sophomore at the University of South Carolina where she is majoring in Fashion Merchandising and minoring in Public Relations and French. At Brainchild Events, Mia works closely with Dwight on The Agency where she specializes in marketing for boutiques and clothing stores because of her past retail experience. She does much of the graphic design for the company and runs the Brainchild Next Blog.

Mia is always go, go, going; she loves to be busy! She can usually be found hanging out with friends, getting ahead on schoolwork, writing in her planner, drinking too much coffee, reading magazines galore, and doing lots and lots of shopping. She craves to learn new things and explore new places. In the future, Mia wishes to work in the fashion industry, yet she is still developing what her exact career path will be. Mia’s favorite quote is “don’t tell me the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon.”
